I went outside this morning to disconnect and saw what looked like an RV vent sitting on the ground. It was, in fact, an RV vent sitting on the ground.
"Now, where did that come from?" I queried myself.
“How the (bleep) should I know?” came my response, quite unexpectedly.
“Is it mine?” I asked.
A man came by, walking a dog. He looked at me funny and hurried on his way.
“You'd better go check.” I began wondering to whom I was speaking. I looked around, saw no one, and wished I could hurry on my way.
I went inside and found the roof vent over the bed to be open to the sky. The crank was still there, but there was nothing up there to crank.
Did I mention that the forecast for today is rain?
I found a Camping World just north of San Antonio and called them. They said they could take care of us. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but I hoped for the best. As Barbara drove, I went into the back and did a little dance to keep the rain from falling. As I drove, Barbara refused. I think she was the smart one.
We pulled into Camping World around 1:00. They did, indeed, take care of us (in a good way). Barbara and I went off to lunch. By the time we got back, we had a nice, new vent installed. We pulled into the KOA around 4:30. So much for relaxing.
I did get my wine, though.

wjmccain To Jim, re: Mileage Thanks for the calculations on the gas mileage. It helped me figure out just what it will cost me to drive on this trip. Unfortunately, now I'm depressed. It seems that my total cost will be somewhat over $450,000,000 (and I haven't figured the trip home, yet). Also, regarding the 17,400 mph, that's the speed limit in the slow lane in Texas. Thanks for the offer of the sliderule, but my head is about to explode. Bill
Steve Pappin So does this mean you got to vent your anger?I couldn't pass it up.
