A friend of Barbara’s from Stanford, Geraldine, lives in Fort Worth (she and Barbara worked together several years ago). Since we’re down here staying away from snow, we stopped in to see her. We got into Fort Worth early in the afternoon, and, as Geraldine was not available until after 6:00, we went to the Fort Worth stockyards and watched a cattle drive through the streets. There were about eight or nine longhorn cattle being driven by five or six cow pokes. It was interesting, but I guess I was expecting a couple thousand head of cattle stampeding through town, leaving crumpled cars in their wake.
The visit with Geraldine was good. Her house is in a beautiful Fort Worth neighborhood, with lots of trees lining the streets. Her driveway is extra-wide, so we were able to park the RV there instead of an RV park. It was very comfy.
She and Barbara talked a lot about Stanford Engineering, who’s left, and what everybody is doing now. I tried to keep my eyes open. At midnight, they decided they’d had enough, and the party broke up. I opened my eyes and went to bed.

Leigh Ann Fort Worth is a great town, I love it there. Next time you are there, check out the Amon Carter museum, and The Kimball. Great western and other art there.
