Today is the day we've been waiting for! This morning we took a cab downtown and had breakfast at a farm to table place owned by a Canadian who moved here. The food was great. We hung out at the hotel for a while and then went to Tabacon. It was way bigger and prettier than I expected. I've seen pictures and I took a lot of them but pictures really don't do it justice.
The springs were great. We spent a few hours going from pool to pool. It was raining on and off all day but it was a good day for it since we were in the pools and obviously didn't care about staying dry. At 4:30 we had our massage. The spa is really nice. They have a waiting room with a hot tub in it and they bring you a smoothie while you wait. The massage was in an outdoor room right next to a waterfall. The massage itself was great. Our calves have been killing us. I go up and down stairs like a toddler (one step at a time, holding the rail). I'm sure it must be from all the stairs at the waterfall on Monday. Hopefully between the hot springs and the massages our calves will get back to normal.
After the massage we had the buffet dinner. It was pretty good, especially for buffet food. Today was one of those days that we'll remember forever. It was awesome. Well, it's almost 9 now which is apparently past our bedtime in Costa Rica since this country is turning us into morning people. Tomorrow we're up at 6, we'll have one last breakfast in La Fortuna, then it's off to Jaco. We're really going to miss La Fortuna. In our few days here we've gotten to know it pretty well.
