Off Exploring
Well it was a somewhat long day of traveling. We left La Fortuna at 8. We were really sad to go. We got to Jaco in the afternoon. We rented a condo through AirBnb and it's beautiful. It's a true one bedroom, which is really nice. Now when I wake up I can make coffee and do stuff without waking Kyle up.
After we arrived we walked around for a few hours. Jaco is a lot different than La Fortuna. First impression- we definitely don't love Jaco. Over the next few days we'll use it as our home base to go exploring nearby places. The owner of the condo we rented came by and she's going to see if she can get us booked for the Crocodile Man tour tomorrow afternoon. I've been really wanting to do that tour and it would be a lot of fun. We had been planning to go to Tsunami sushi for our anniversary this weekend but she told us that tomorrow is half off. So our game plan for tomorrow is to go to the farmer's market in the morning, Tsunami for lunch, and then hopefully the crocodile tour.
The prices here are a lot higher than they were in La Fortuna so we're hoping to make use of the kitchen we have here. We've talked about living in Costa Rica which would obviously have to include grocery shopping and cooking at home. The owner also pointed out some of the local places where the prices are cheaper. We plan on going to lots of sodas while we're here. They have a mas x menos down the street and we haven't been to one of those yet so hopefully we'll go tomorrow.
I've heard of being homesick but what about being homesick for somewhere that's not home? We really miss La Fortuna. We loved it there. We're already thinking of the trip we'll do next year. Panama is also on our list of potential places to live so we might go check out Panama or we would do Costa Rica again. Next time we would skip Jaco and San Jose and go back to La Fortuna and check out Tamarindo. Hopefully Jaco will grow on us...we'll see. I had wanted to go check out Manuel Antonio so now we know that we'll definitely have time.
