Off Exploring
I'm really not trying to knock Jaco but this place is not for us. We've decided to go to Quepos tomorrow and we'll be spending one night at a hotel there. Luckily since it's rainy season and we're booking so last minute I was able to get a room for half the cost of what they normally charge. The pictures of the hotel look great- ocean view, lots of lush green trees, and monkeys! Exactly what we're looking for. Since we still have the Jaco condo paid for until Monday we'll just leave most of our stuff here and take what we need for the 1 night. We're getting picked up on Monday afternoon to head back to San Jose, so on Sunday we'll make our way back to Jaco. I am excited to see Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
This morning was an early morning as always. We went and had an American style breakfast. We never really found the motivation to do anything so we just had a lazy day today. Doesn't make for a very exciting travel blog entry but it was a much needed day of just sitting around watching TV and playing card games.
We did go to Tsunami sushi for lunch. We were planning on going for dinner this weekend but we found out that today is 1/2 off day. We got 4 different kinds of rolls for $26 including the tip. It was definitely worth the money. The sushi was very good (not quite California or Florida good but very good none the less) but it somehow tasted even better at 1/2 price. :) We tried some gelato next door. It was yummy and I was really happy that the size small was actually small. Just one scoop. In the states I always wish there was some size smaller than small because the small is always too big. Here the size small is perfect. We also went to the grocery store and got a few things- eggs, bread, bananas, juice- so that we can make our own breakfast tomorrow. We went to a place called TacoBar for dinner. They give you whatever meat you want in a tortilla and you load it up at their salad bar. It's catered towards Americans so it was overpriced but decent. It was unique so it was worth checking out.
