So we bussed it from Chile to Argentina....just like that. 8hrs. Simple. No problems at the border, even for us Brits. Bariloche reminds me of Puerto Varas on a larger scale. No ATM at the bus station so when we get a taxi, the first stop is to get some Arg Pesos.

Hostel is nice, small, staff very friendly. Some Argentinian girls in our 4 berth dorm are relaxing, although one appears to have broken her foot. get the inside scoop on where to get a beer....we are ponted in the direction of a bar with 7 different types, and we try them all....in a taste selection of course. Yummy! We have found empanadas to be a good snack....basically, pasties.

This is a very touristy place, but with good reason. the view on the lake is worth a visit alone. Lots of chalet type buildings around, an arts and crafts market, loads of restaurants, and lots of activities in easy reach. Spend a day or two here, mainly strolling around, taking in the atmosphere....not markedly different to Chile at the moment. More english spoken here, but the spanish is still coming in handy and much used.

Lots of chocolate flying around, as it is Semana Santa, or easter....some people dressed as rabbits - scary. Weather still cold at night, looking forward to the warmer North.

Last night here is not a particularly good one as a party erupts outside of our bedroom door - we think someone was sick in our loo. Hey ho, the magic of travelling. Taxi it to the bus station and negotiate a ticket to Buenos Aires.
