The bestest travel journal ever :)
1770/Agnes Water:
This town/village/group of houses was the tiniest place ever... 1770 itself had only a population of 100 people and 500 in Agnes Water down the road.
The hostel was nice - very chilled with hammocks and the like. Though we arrived about 7 o'clock on the first day - and everything in the town was closed. All restaurants and everything - it was deserted... like a ghost town...apparently that was the norm around these parts...
We finally managed to get some grub in the pub which was open really late (9 o'clock!).
The next day we went on a wicked scooter tour - this was amazing. We got to war wicked biker helmets and pretend like we knew what we were doing....
After 5 minutes of sitting on the bikes (we had the choice of huge big harley davidson moter bikes - or slightly smaller scooters: as you can guess we picked the scooters...) - I had nearly died twice... but was all good. By the fifth turn I actually got the hang of steering as opposed to having to stop the bike, manually chage the direction, and start again!
The ride was fantastic though the bikes went to a crazy speed of only 65kph - but was good nontheless. We stopped to see some kangaroos and the most amazing sunset...
Then road back to the hostel at dusk... pretty amazing day.
