No visit to Sydney is complete without brunch and Bill's (Bill Granger) is the obvious choice, we set off on the bus to his original cafe in Darlinghurst. Luckily there was no queue as we had feared and we ate a superb Full Aussie Breakfast in a very chilled out Sydney icon. His scrambled eggs are definitely worth the hype. I just wish we had room to eat the sweetcorn fritters and ricotta hotcakes...next time. On our way back we did manage an ice cream ( salted caramel and white chocolate) at Gelato Messina; perfect preparation for an afternoon lazing on the beach at Coogee. The sky was a perfect blue as was the sea, which although only 21C was refreshing for our resident Coogee Surf Lifesaver. The waves were high and most people were bodysurfing so it was very entertaining. We spent a quiet evening watching a good movie and sampling the Hungerford Hills wine.
