Such a brief stay in Buenos Aires... Today we headed off on a city tour in the morning before enjoying an afternoon wandering the shops and visiting the famous city cemetery. It's like nothing you've seen before. All family mausoleums are in there and they are amazing - marble, stone and many with stained glass windows... They are the most over-the-top things you have ever seen. Many presidents and famous military leaders are there as well as the most famous gravesite, that of Evita Peron... The "don't cry for me Argentina" song inspiration. Acted poorly by Madonna most recently.
So for the evening we headed to a tango show and dinner... It was a cross between a dancing floorshow and musical theatre in a way. It was very much a performance and after our very authentic feeling tango lesson, we certainly realised how much heart and passion it lacked. None the less the performers were good and I came home exhausted. Next we are bound for iguazu.
