KATIE MADE IT!!!

What a very stressful few days it has been from both sides of the world. Thank you Korean Airways for being one of the only flights out of Heathrow, and with only 1 hours delay on the scheduled arrival time. Absolutely amazing. I have had a very wobbly chin for the past few days at the thought of Katie not making it. But here she is on the other side of the world .... in bed and knackered but here nonetheless.

Met Katie at about 9.50am NZ time, she had been travelling for 24 hours with only 15minutes of ground time in the period. Because of the delay in take off the 1 hour stop over at Seoul was reduced to about 15 minutes with the real possibility that her luggage may have to follow, eventually. Thankfully that was not the case and all arrived safely.

We collected a hire car, katie had a sneaky shower at the car hire offices and we headed off into Auckland city centre to say goodbye to two of my Kiwi Experience buddies, Chris and Jordan. Very brave of me I thought to drive in the city having not been behind the wheel for 4 months!

After lunch we hit Highway 2 heading south for Rotorua, which is where we are now. We have just had a lovely celebratory Italian meal in the town and a very very tired Katie has gone to bed. The plan is to chill out at the towns hot water spa's tomorrow. Visit the Mauri experience village tomorrow evening then continue our journey south. Weather is very overcast and muggy but Katie is happy to have anything other than cold and snow.
