Didn't have to be at the tour place till 10.30 so it was nice to do a tour where we didn't have to be up at the crack of Dawn!! Stocked up on some water and met the rest of the group, a 65 year old Israeli called Smegal and 2 French girls who happened to be on our bus to the Colca Canyon (1 was car sick then who annoyed us by opening the window!!) drove to the train cemetery which was actually quite good, better than what we thought it would be, took photos and messed around. Laurie proved he was never going to make it as a photographer, his photo skills are shocking!! Headed then off to the salt flats which were amazing! Created when the Andes mountains were formed by trapping a massive amount of sea then all the water evaporating (learning stuff too) views were incredible, could see the horizon and still salt flats, the buildings in the distance looked like they were floating! We then got on bikes and had a 1/2 hour ride on the flats till lunch, I thought naked cycling would be a good idea so had some interesting photos, was really cold and at the high altitude... Had an awesome lunch (llama steaks) in an ice hotel before heading off to take more photos on the flats. Naturally me Joel and Laurie just got naked and did loads of different photos like this, was pretty homoerotic, Joel was in his element surrounded by 2 naked men. Got on the jeep off to a cactus island, finding out the French girls had been perving on us and taking their own photos, only natural I guess. Walked round the cactus island before heading off to a salt hostel (everything made out of salt) was really nice and warm and had a nice chicken dinner. Then went back to the salt flats and saw the stars, could see 180^ of the horizon and stars, never seen so many before and never so bright either!! Sounds pretty gay but could have after looking at them for ages! Saw a couple of shooting stars so my wishes should start coming in soon... Next day we went and saw an active volcano from below and some rock formations, not really that impressive, and went and saw a lot of different lagoons with flamingos in which was cool but was mainly a driving day to get to the nature reserve. When we did get there it was shut due to conflicts between the locals cut and the governments so had a 4 hour drive back to a hostel which sucked. Saw a lagoon which was red which was pretty sweet though! 2 French girls and the Israeli guy were nice enough to get along with. At the hostel we chilled until dinner which was again amazing and got to share a bottle of red which was a nice touch, our food compared to the other groups was amazing, although some of the other groups girls were a lot nicer... Got woken up at 3.45 by the stupid cockerel and didn't shut up until 6.30 so no one was too happy with that ball bag. Turns out 2 hot girls from another group were inquiring about us to the frenchies saying how lucky they were to be on a tour with us. The hotter one came over and started chatting to me for a while, obviously mega interested (not too surprising) so that was a good start to what turned out to be a pretty boring day. Saw some more not that interesting rocks and lagoons and had Ryomas American auntie following us everywhere with their group, typical annoying yanks! Although the daughter said the funniest thing, whilst she visited London she wanted to watch a 'soccer' match and the easiest to get tickets for was a Tottenham match (s*** fans)!!! It got better, she watched an arsenal match too and 'they were much more entertaining and a better team', couldn't have scripted it!! Must have sucked for Jose our tour guide having to fill what was going to be an interesting day with pretty boring stuff, but was just one of those things! French girls told us to stop talking as we talked too much which was mega rude so it just made us talk more and not acknowledge them for the rest of the trip!! Got back about 5pm and just booked out bus tickets to Villazon, had some dinner which was awesome and then in the same place watched all the football results come in. The results were quality, spurs obviously got battered by arsenal so that made everyone happy, Chelsea and man u lost and all my fantasy players did well unlike Mr de Jong. We have a long bus journey ahead so will give home some tips and advice.. Got on the bus at 2000 and it was horrendous, the road was even worse it shook and rattled for 8 hours Boone getting too much sleep. The Bolivian women have been the ugliest smelliest race I have ever met, typified by Joel's bus friend, she stank and was huge felt a bit sorry for him!! Have also seen a thousand more llamas in the short time in Bolivia than the whole of Peru!!
