Got to Buenos Aires at a decent time but by the time it took the bus to make its way through the centre (worse than London) it was about 1300 so was pretty tired and grumpy (after nearly 20 hours on my tod). Burnt my eyelids yesterday too so was looking pretty weird and pretty uncomfortable too! Went to get a taxi but they were trying to charge 70 pesos (about £7) to go 2 miles down the road so I just decided to walk it. Wasn't too bad, and was able to see a bit of the city but I couldn't find the hostel for ages, it had the tiniest sign I have ever seen! Eventually found it and checked in, Joel and Laurie had already booked me a room so was able to pretty much go straight up. Got into the room about 1430 and wasn't really a surprise to see Laurie still in bed so woke him up and chilled out catching up and telling him about the hot Argentinean girl from Mendoza! Went out to get some grub in an English bar called Gibraltar and watch the end of the Chelsea v Fulham match, was kitted out exactly how an old school English working mans pub! Had a Vietnamese curry and chilled out before heading back and having a relatively quiet night after a couple of beers. Didn't really do too much during the day, just chilling out talking and pottering around, catching up with stuff on the internet. Went and bought some 600g steaks from Carrefour for £4 and some wine to cook for dinner and then bumped into Matt and Courtney who we shared a room with in La Paz. Had the steaks which were insane, the sort you would pay big bucks for, before getting on it with Matt and some Aussies from our room. Went of to the sister hostel where we carried on drinking and busting out the moves before I had to go back to the hostel to put trousers and shoes on for club, got Laurie to sort out the cheaper club ticket whilst I was away. Got back and of course the numpty hadn't bothered to do it so was going to have to pay double when I got there, luckily I just walked straight in whilst Laurie distracted the bouncers which was pretty sweet!! Was pretty cool, just pranced around a bit and stayed out till 0630, apparently pretty standard over here!! Was weird getting back from a night out seeing people up for brekkie and checking out! Didn't leave the room till 1500, which was only to get water and more steaks and some £1 red wine as were sophisticated these days! Was much better than last night, better cut and cooked properly and just sat and ate whilst we watched people tango. Soon realised was a real easy way to pick up some pretty fit women (men in Bowles case) so pencilled it in for next time! The Aussies bought rum so me and Mr De Jong went down the supermarket and get some too, proper student ways, and had a party in the room with a load of peeps saving some pennies! The Aussies kept putting talcum powder up there nose, great way to use an IPad too not too sure what they were up too..... Headed off to some Burlesque club which was weird, women pretty hot but not too sure if they were women, reminds me of a story of Lee in Thailand im not allowed too talk about... Randomly bumped into two French girls who were loving me from another group on the Salt flats trip and spoke to them for a bit agreeing to meet up another night sometime, gave them Laurie's details so hope they don't see his profile picture and get frightened off!! Later got invited to an after party by too hot Argentineans and then this ridiculously hot girl was all over me!! What can I say I guess there only human but I can't wait to move to Argentina!! Got back and had a laugh with the Aussie room mates having banter over the girls sport Aussie rules and how England are miles better than them at Ruby and Ricky Ponting who....?? Didn't get in till 7 am so literally did nothing the next day apart from chill out, Laurie's favourite part of travelling! Got up pretty early and went off to watch an F1 Red Bull show in central Buenos Aires with Matt and Courtney by bus. Was pretty cheap and didn't take too long, stopped off and had a Maccy D's before going off to watch the F1. Was mega busy so watched a couple of Renaults drive around before giving up and walking to Recoleta cemetery, took ages and had to stop off a couple of times for a rest as it was so hot!! Walked around it for and hour or so which in a weird was pretty interesting. The tombs were all pretty big, the cemetery is right in the middle of the city, and some were really decorative with others quite plain. You could see all the coffins and whole families together, apparently it is quite a prestigious place to be laid to rest, a spooky interesting place. After all the walking and sightseeing it was time for a beer so chilled out for a bit looking at the nice sights walk past before heading back to the hostel by bus and meeting back with Joel. Ross and Elaine were there as well so had a couple of beers with them before Me, Joel, Laurie and all the Aussies went off to Gibraltar to get some grub! This is the place that Sam from the Machu Picchu trek recommended and again the food was quality and nice to have a pint of cider! Stayed there for a bit before we went back to the hostel and got on it! Met up with Ross and Elaine again and bumped into 2 Canadian girls that we saw right at the start of the trip in Santa Marta Colombia!! They barely recognise us now our beards were real manly and impressive, as soon as they saw Laurie they were calling him Neville.... apparently he is the spitting image of a Harry Potter character Neville Longbottom..! Got on it with everyone, polished off 2 bottles of red and barely remember anything past that, went to Pasha where I was a bit of a mess and got back about 7!!
