Waking up to the sound of cows and sheeps is surprisingly refreshing! Overnight rain only enhanced the freshness of the pure kiwi air. A long drive awaits today. Mum and Dad are certainly prepared as they stuffed down hugh breakfasts freshly cooked by our hosts, Annette and Chris. The homemade rasberry jam is delicious. Then off we go. The scenery changes all the time but it is all too much for my young mind so I fall to sleep while looking at some snow capped mountains. When the car comes to a stop, there I am. Beautiful turquoise water of Lake Tekapo right through the big glass door of this magnificient house. I could spend hours looking at this heavenly vista. But no. I prefer to jump up and down the huge bed :) La dolcé vita! We then head down to the lake itself. Dad takes lots photos then the battery goes flat. Dad gets really upset because he did not bring the charger. Disaster. He tries to blame me for it but really it is his fault.
Apparently there are quite a few salmon farms around here. So dinner is all about salmon. Sashimi! Yum! Even though I am not allowed to eat that yet. Instead it is rice and miso soup.
Dad has a grand plan to drive up to Mt John observatory for a good view of the vista in the soft light of sunset. Hah, funny him. The place closes at 5pm in summer even though the sun does not set until 9. But I like that because it means we head back for another round of peek-a-boo at the magnificent Glacier Rock BnB.
