Mt Cook. 3754m. Highest in anz. That is where we are heading today. Soon we go around the unbelievably blue lake Pukaki and admire the impressive Southern Alps with its glaciers. But mountain weather can change very quickly. By the time we get to base camp, Mt Cook, also known as Aoraki, is shrouding in dark cloud and the wind really picks up. The rain is now flying horizontally! But the rain is light, so of course we off for a little hike! But I hate the kangaro...

Waking up to the sound of cows and sheeps is surprisingly refreshing! Overnight rain only enhanced the freshness of the pure kiwi air. A long drive awaits today. Mum and Dad are certainly prepared as they stuffed down hugh breakfasts freshly cooked by our hosts, Annette and Chris. The homemade rasberry jam is delicious. Then off we go.
