Mt Cook. 3754m. Highest in anz. That is where we are heading today. Soon we go around the unbelievably blue lake Pukaki and admire the impressive Southern Alps with its glaciers. But mountain weather can change very quickly. By the time we get to base camp, Mt Cook, also known as Aoraki, is shrouding in dark cloud and the wind really picks up. Waking up to the sound of cows and sheeps is surprisingly refreshing! Overnight rain only enhanced the freshness of the pure kiwi air. A long drive awaits today. After a slightly rough landing at Christchurch airport, Dad packed us all on a corolla and headed out Christchurch quickly. We are not too keen on feeling any rumble there. First stop will be Akaroa.
