I started my day by changing my clothes and freshing myself up in the public toilets while a giant sheep in the field behind the toilets stared at me which is a perfect metaphor for my travels in New Zealand.
We headed for Picton which is a quaint small sea-side town; it is also the port for our ferry to Wellington. We had a hour to spare so we explored Picton, the parking were really cheap, it cost only 20 pence per hour! I was disappointed that we only had a hour because it were a glorious sunny day and Picton had a lot of character for a small town but eventually we went on the ferry and bid our goodbyes to the South Island.
I won't write too much about the ferry journey because the majority of people had been on a ferry and I spent most of it slumped in the lounge. The journey took 3 and half hours and no one got sea-sick so the journey was rather dull as I have mentioned!
We got off and found our camp-site for the night. To our utter amazement, it was actually a car park, an enterprising businessman must have bought the land, built toilets and showers along with 240 volts power supply and few other camp-site essentials. It was a cool place to stay for a night and the factilies were so clean, we need a pin to get in the toilets so no passer-by could use it.
We went for a walk and to find a place to eat. Wellington is my kind of city. It wasn't too big and overcrowded. It is also very sport-orientated because there was loads of joggers and cyclists around and the city had a lot of character with its trendy yet clean streets and crowd. We ate in Hogs Breath because we know it will be our last time enjoying the steaks because it was our last night out for eating. We spent rest of our evening just exploring.
