Clear skies as we awoke but still chilly. Plans were still a little fluid as we left Cable Bay, a tranquil stop by the Ronga River, plenty of swim places but way too cold for us. Coffee and the most pretentious muffin ever eaten thus far ( bacon, olive and capsicum ?!) at Havelock Marina. Kids please note Andrew would be truly content when the time comes to be put in care home adjacent to a marina where he can sit and pass judgement on the berthing abilities of those still able to captain their sea craft! It is a wonderful way to pass the time and perhaps miss “Therapy “ a bit.
We thought we would take the scenic route to Picton and stay close to ferry port but another side walk around a headland lead us to want to stay around the Sound for as long as possible.
So we found a rare free spot adjacent to a beach where there were six spaces we got the fifth. We recon we are about an hour from the Ferry so should be ok for tomorrow. However we hadn’t planned to free camp tonight so will be having a bit of a random dinner tonight, eating up the contents of the fridge ( eggs, bacon and cheese will feature heavily and we still have wine so all still good).
