Trip of a Lifetime
10/2/06
Today was going to be a longdrive as we were heading upto the North of the island. We were first sopping in Auckalnd to drop off some of our group who were finishing in Auckland and also picking up some new people. We arrived in Auckland about 11am for lunch and left there about 12.30pm.
On the way to the Bay of Islands we stopped at a place where they had the native treeI think was called a Parry tree where we were told we had to go and hug the 800yr old tree, so we did. Wethen headed upto the Bay of Islands.
We arrived in the Bay about 4.15pm at a place called Paihia (said pie-here). We got a quick tour of the area and then headed to our hotel. Our room was gorgeous, finally a decent place to stay. After dinner we crashed in our room and watched a movie.

TodayI woke up at 7.45am as we had to be ready for 8.45am to head to our sailing trip. We were going on a catamaran and going sailing and just having a chilled day. Wegot onto the catamaran about 9am and headed out. I was chilled out on the trampolines and soaking up the sun. Then suddenly the captain stopped the boat and told us there was a pod of dolphins near us. We all got our cameras and took loads of photos and movies. At one point 2 of the younger dolphins were mucking about aroung the catamaran it was so cool. We then headed to this small bay where we could jump off and swim to shore, so thats what most of us did, some took the easy option and got in the dinghy. After chilling on the beach for an hour we swam back and had lunch.
Then we headed back and I carried on soaking up the sun, I had to catch up with Binita who had turned black.
When we got back to shore we all headed for ice cream and milkshakes.
At 7pm Binita an dI headed out to find some food. We found this pizzaria that looked really nice shame about the service. That night we did our laundry and thenchilled in our room.
