Our last day in Perth was probably one of my favourite of the trip so far. We started by taking our box from yesterday for another walk but this time full of souvenirs. We arrived at the post office to find it was shut, much like the Australian close at 5 rule it appears opening on weekends is a problem too. So we were left with no other option than to walk our souvinier filled box back in hope we had time after the train to post it.
After our town walk in the glaring sun we used several buses to arrive at the bike hire shop. Firstly this shop was not easy to find Laura and I had to stop a randomer on the street, who happily used her phone to look up directions. Once there we hired 2 bikes for a "short trip" around swan lake, our route was around 9km and lead to a very sore bum. Cycling is a big thing in Perth and it is full of dedicated cycling lanes, full of men in short shorts and donning go faster helmets. Our trip was leisurely through the park salavating at the people barbecuing. The views were spectacular and it is a must do for anyone going!
We closed the night off with a trip to Jamie's Italian a restaurant that holds a special importance to Laura and I from our trip to Edinburgh. The food was good but is a rare luxury for a back packer.
