After being delayed for over an hour we were on our way to Perth! We both managed to get some sleep on the flight but sleeping upright will never be comfortable! Once we arrived in Perth we collected our luggage, minus 1 strap for the outside bag. We found we needed to take 3 buses to reach our hostel, the driver from the airport was very helpful and we met a fellow backpacker from Canada called Brittany, heading in the same direction. As the three of us chatted we struck the interest of a british man from Perth. He took it upon himself to be our personally transport guide and pub advisor.
Once we arrived at the city bus terminal we went to catch the final bus as well as free ourselves from our self-appointed guide. Brittany, Ant and I worked out the bus we needed and while waiting our previous driver congratulated our success of losing the 'merry' English man. In his defence he was very helpful and full of information but it was a little difficult to digest after a long flight and a couple of hours sleep!
After finding the hostel we dropped our bags off and went for a wander in to the centre. Enabling us to stock up on toiletries we needed and to find me a bite relief cream (in English) to help my swollen ankle! In the afternoon we were able to check in and experience the shared bathrooms. The hostel is clean, welcoming and offers free breakfast...a normal breakfast of toast and cornflakes!
A long day had earned us a nap, before heading to the supermarket to collect some dinner. Having only been eating in restaurants for a month we jumped at the opportunity to make our own dinner in the communal kitchen. Now for a good nights sleep in a horizontal position!
