Our final full day in Kyoto, so we headed out for breakfast at the same cafe we kept going too, cheese on toast for breakfast costing £1.20 compared to a £10 breakfast at the hotel. We had a look around some souvenir shops before taking a walk round the outskirts of the station.
We ended up in a temple called Nishi Hoingwanji, which was previously used for teaching Buddhism. It was a huge woodern temple and the space inside was vast, it also had the nightingale floor boards we had seen at Nijo castle. I can not get over how peaceful the temples are, everyone is so quiet and you must take your shooes off to enter so no clomping about!
After we walked on to a nearby park where we saw famillies relaxing and playing in the sun. They must be more use to the heat because we could barely stand to sit in it let alone run around! We returned to the hotel to sort out our bags before having a meal at a Chinese restaurant, I think Ant was beginning to miss rice! Unfortunately a rather boring meal with little flavour, not to mention the tofu in fruit syrup for dessert. Yum!
