Day 42- Arrived in Cairns after a good flight that seemed to go really quick. Checked in at the hostel, and after a few words with the girl on reception we got our room. Bags down and a night on town was due with D back to full health.... headed to the lounge and we ended up sharing a bottle of wine, a celebrations were cut short as we were told we had to pay to get in places, none of that, so celebrations put on ice till 2moz.

Day 43- Awoken to the the sound "you've got 45mins to get out" we realized the girl we were sharing with was a bit of a rebel and had p33s2d off the staff for about week and they'd had enough. Woke Up a bit late so headed into to town to take a look round, came back and booked up our reef tour for sunday. Headed to an all u can eat bbq and ended up on the town again, this time in PJ's Bar where there was a coyote ugly competition on the bar...interesting, met some random OZZIES from the gold coast who we ended up with in PJ's. Good night out.

Day 44- Nice relaxed day before the big day on the reef cruise tomoz. D cooked dinner and we watched V for Vendetta as theres a regular movie night at the hostel. Great Barrier reef 2moz.

Day 45- Dropped off at the mariner we jumped on board our boat we we signed our disclaimers haha. Set sail and the introduction to scuba diving started. Arrived at the reef after 2 hours at sea without feeling sick (not like the thailand boats). We were first up on the semi-submerssable... jumped in and could see under the sea, saw the big fish and headed towards the reefs.....they looked amazing I think We were lost for words ( which doesn't happen much) it was like an underwater city. Saw turtles giant clams and different types of reefs. Back on board and after a healthy lunch time for the scubba diving intro....suited and booted and a bit of re-assurance for D, we were in the sea. The guy got us to do a few tests, equalizing ears which ended up in my ears not equalizing so I wasn't allowed to do it as it could permanently damage my hearing or something, still saw a few fish and the coral though. D's turn and with me out the water she panicked a bit and soon foolowed suit, but again she some big fish close up and the reef!!. A bit annoyed with myself we headed to the beach for a bit of snorkelling around the coral.....saw some fish and some big clams..excellent time had!! Off back home and it was my turn to cook, whilst we watched the one and only Anchorman....still a classic!!

Day 46- After an exhausting day at sea and alot of time spent laughing at the one and only Anchorman we decided to sort out a few trips. Sorted out Sailing the whitsundays adn Frazer island...all booked up, we then got our seat sorted for the 5 hour greyhound bus trip to townsville. We had a look round the rown centre and came across a pound shop where we stocked up on the neccesities including some jeans for D and a frizzbee for the beach!! Took a stroll over to the koala/croc sanctuary.but saw the entance fee and headed into the casino to take a look round. After looking round I decided to have a $10 bet on black....I won, get in!!! $20 on black and my luck ran out...headed back to the hostel to sort out everything for the early trip to townsville...and D's night to cook, noodles and sausages...went down a storm!!!!!
