Ant drove for about 3 hours up to Port Macquarie, our longest drive yet and so we settled into our campsite for the night with a few glasses of vino.
My grandparents have some friends in Port Macquarie, who they asked us to call in on so we gave them a call and arrange to pop round on the Saturday afternoon. In the morning we watched Bolt on the Itouch (wicked film!) and then I drove (see how excited I am about driving! lol) to the Koala park where Ant fed some Roo's and we got to stroke a Koala, ahh!
We arrived at Pam and Bills at 2.30pm and they laid out cheese and biscuits, wine and beer and plenty of cakes! What a treat! They were so lovely and we had a great afternoon with them chatting about the old days and what they used to get up to with my grandparents and stuff. Time flew by and we didn't leave till 7pm but they asked if we would like to go out for dinner with them the next night.
So, the next night we walked round to Pam and Bills and they took us to a BYO (bring your own) restaurant. They brought a bottle of red and white wine, both of which happened to be our favourites and we tucked into some steak and king prawns, followed by Ants favourite profiteroles! We had another great evening with them and it was like being with my Grandparents for the night and at the end of the night they insisted on paying. We were sorry to say goodbye to them, but left them a nice thank you gift of flowers the next day on our way out of Port Macquarie.
The place was absolutely beautiful and it's set up mostly for retirement. So peaceful and plenty to do around the area and Pam and Bills house had a jetty in the back where people can keep boats and stuff. All in all, it was a lovely weekend and we were definitely spoiled!
