13th AugOur flight took an hour from lima through to Iquitos in northern peru. We arrived at this little airport in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by burnt out aeroplanes which really did nothing for mikes fear of flying.It was slightly wierd being back travelling together. I think we had both really enjoyed the freedom it had given us. After a long gossip about what we had been up to things were back to normal and we were raring to get going down the amazon. We checked out the boats and found one that was leraving that evening to Santa Rosa which is still in peru and boarders Brazil and Colombia. We managed to pick up some fruit and stuff at the local market before boarding the boat and hanaging our hammocks (our beds for the nect 2 nights)We were on the boat by 3pm swining away in our hammocks (well mike actually bought a curtain disguised as a hammock, which he was so proud of especially as it was ralph lauren!) The boat started to fill up and eventually after cramming as many people as possible on it we set off down the amazon.
