Still without luggage, boarded the gorgeous gulet 'Tanema' for 14 days of Greek & Turkish on Kos. Ate at 'Mummy's Restaurant' last night, a favourite from last year. Just beyond the tourist strip, food authentic, prepared by Mamma, her son gorgeous & charming front of house. 76 Euro for 5 of us for wine, beer, appetisers & mains was ridiculous!
This morning hit the back blocks of town wandering amongst ruins with exquisite mosaics, and walking down an alley where carts & chariots wore deep ruts in stone!
'Tandem' sailed into harbour, conspicuous in size & grandeur.
After further detective work on lost luggage, 7 of us embarked to greet the 8 'disembarkees'. We were the happier bunch!
After harbour clearance we sailed for Bodrum, Turkey - swim stop & lunch en route; to clear Turkish immigration, & grab emergency clothing. Then headed for overnight in calm waters near Bodrum, dinner on deck, brilliant chef from last year catering, everything FRESH! Baked fish, chargrilled prawns, salads....& decadent warmed halva.
My luggage is finally in Athens!! Will reconnect with it in a week on Samos....I hope.
