Got back on the Kuala Lumpur Hop On Hop Off bus tour at 9.30. We had our malaria tablets this morning without eating which is a big no no!
I was literally going to vomit all over the person sat in front of me, who may I add was wearing crocs so probably deserves it.
We stopped at the palace for 10 minutes as a photo stop but as we had seen it yesterday I just layed face down on the tarmac ready to vom. I didn't though, well nearly! The couple from australia from yesterday were on our bus again today!
We then stopped off at another photo place, it was the National Palace of Culture, it looked like the Sydney opera house in Australia! We didn't go inside though as its not one of the places the receptionist recommended yesterday and we can only stay on the bus till 11.30.
Drove over a big bridge and got a picture of the amazing skyline which includes the Patronas towers and the KL tower!
We got off the bus at the Patronas Towers again, we really wanted to walk across the bridge between the two buildings but it was sold out. I don't understand this.
Went to a restaurant on the 4th floor, it was a Thai restaurant and we fancied it as we havnt had Thai since Thailand! It was rubbish! Had a Thai green curry. The best part of the meal was the service door bells they put on each table and when you press it the waiters come running to your table. Had some great fun. DING DONG!!
The shops in here are very posh! I'm talking Prada, Armani, Chopard, Hermes, Gucci, Tiffany, Hugo Boss, Alfred Dunhill, Bally, Mont Blanc etc etc etc! Like 6 huge floors of designer shops!
Left the twin towers and walked towards the KL tower. Walked down shopping street which was all closed up! Got side tracked by a sign for the shopping mall called The Pavilion. Done!
The first shops we saw in the shopping centre was TopShop and TopMan! We literally ran there! The labels had Rinngit prices and sterling prices! You don't know how good it feels to not have to ask the price, work it out in sterling, work out how much you would pay for it and work it out again back into Asian money. Actual fixed prices that are sterling! My mind cannot comprehend it! Seriously £16 for a top isn't going to happen though, Michael nearly did before I reminded him he could get 3 tops and a dishwasher for that in the market.
The whole shopping centre is made for tourists! It had so many English shops in it, TopShop, TopMan, Dorothy Perkins, La Senza, Tesco etc etc
We left and walked back down shopping street towards the KL tower. The sign said it should have taken 10 minutes, as Michael was navigating it took 1.5 hours! We walked all the way around the stupid thing then back to the start! Love the scenic route :|
We literally stood outside of it, took a picture then got a taxi. We are coming back another day to do the full thing so I guess it was pretty pointless walking here anyway! Fabulous! The highlight was Michael nearly falling down a random huge drain that didn't have a cover on it! It would have made my life!
Got noodle soup from a street stall, it was horrible! It's different to the noodle soup in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. It's harder noodles like instant noodles at home, the soup isn't nice and they give you plastic chop sticks! What am I supposed to do with plastic chop sticks??? Anyway it tasted like it was from the drain so we left it! It was more expensive then usual as well, 5 ringgits (£1)!!! Outrageous!
China Town is so pretty at night, all the colourful lanterns and little stalls! Michael says its different to the China Town in London though, there isn't very many little Chinese restaurants, shops and stalls here. The market doesn't sell Chinese things either! There arnt many chinese here! Strange.
Michael went to buy some clothes from a stall. He just got a plain T-shirt for 25 ringgits (£5) but the tops here were hilarious, some of the sayings on them included 'don't bother, I'm not drunk yet', 'I make good baby', 'no money no honey', 'party till puke', '1 shot, 2 shot, 3 shot, floor' etc etc.
Got ready and Michael plaited my hair to the side. We haggled a taxi from outside our hostel for 15 ringgits (£3) to Blue Boy Bar which was 15 minutes away!
To get into Blue Boy you had to pay 25 ringgits (£5) which is SO expensive but Michael really wanted to go so we paid it, you got a free drink with it. There was 5 people inside the club. No exaggeration!! We asked the bar man and he said its because it the second to last day of Ramadan! Greatttttt!!! usually I would ask to see inside the club before paying and going in but thought it would be ok.
The toilets were disgusting. Mr muscle wouldnt have even been able to help! It's usually squat in these places but it was just a hole in the ground with two planks of wood to stand on. I would rather wet myself.
We asked the bar man directions to another club we had heard about. Set off walking but his directions didnt really make sense and we got lost! I really needed the toilet as I had broken the seal, so ran into KFC to go! Came back and Michael was ordering food! Haha got some chips! Second time we have had western food in 2 days! How bad is that!
Got a taxi home, it was the most lovely chinese man! He told us where the club was and we wernt far off! He said the population of Malaysia is 64% Malay, 26% Chinese and 10% Indian give or take. I would say there is a lot more Indians then 10% though. Got in about 2.
