After a leisurely start to the day, we headed off to Balmoral Bay for a walk around part of the inland watercourse of Sydney Harbour. It was pretty quiet out and it was a great walk (apart from the previous nights detritus on some of the beaches eg empty champagne bottles). Alas we missed the last ferry back from Taranga Zoo and so we had to walk quite a while towards civilisation and more frequent buses (Sydney buses, for example, run to the zoo, but not very often especially on bank holidays. The buses really don't compare to London at all. Raise your game, Sydney!)

After some food in Mosman we decided we really could't be ar*ed with the buses any more and a cab sped us homewards. Our driver was understandably eager to share the news with us of his previous nights bounty so at least cabbing on NYE had been a rewarding diversion for him from the festivities.
