Drove north from Margaret River area to explore the coastline and many surfing beaches in the area. There are also hundreds of wineries, mostly small independent places but most offer wine tastings. We visited one that was recommended and purchased a mixed case which we had sent on to Tom and Sarah's address. Another Christmas present dealt with! Then we just had to stop at a chocolatiers and sample the wares there as well. Mmmm, delicious. Onto Cape Naturaliste; a good spot for whale watching (Sept to Nov) but they must have all moved on. The beaches here are almost pure white sand and this makes the sea a bright turquoise, not unlike Greek Island beaches but here with good surf. See main pic. On to Busselton, a large town built along the coast so many properties have a sea view. Visited the jetty which is nearly 2kms long (reminiscent of Southend pier complete with train) but this one has an underwater viewing room at the end. Can't see that happening at Southend! Not far from where we are staying is a venison farm, surprising how many venison based products available, pates, chorizo, ice cream but we opted for steaks - which were delicious.
