6/3 continued our journey down the east coast highway which cuts through dense eucolypt forests and past stunning golden beaches - mostly devoid of people. There are some interesting towns along this coast, mainly based around recreational sea fishing. Monday 2/3 We left Botany Bay to drive 270 kms down the east coast to Batemans Bay. We were going to stay for 4 days in a holiday home in Surf Bay, just south of Batemans Bay in a road just back from a little sandy cove called Wimbie Bay. Keep up. 26/2 a further 3 hour drive to Botany Bay to stay with John and Yvonne who we met up with last year. The local Rotary Club took over the cinema in nearby Cronulla, and we went to watch 'The Second Best Exotic Hotel' which was hilarious and better than the first. 27/2 David's 65th birthday. 23/2 Monday. Picked up a hire car and set off on our two week circular road trip via Canberra , Sydney, Batemans Bay and round the southern Victoria coast back to Melbourne.
