19/1 first day of the Aussie Open and we had tickets for the Rod Laver Arena. We watched Federer win (of course)his first round match followed by Sharapova win hers.
20/1 I returned to the tennis today with a ground ticket but saw some good matches on the show and outside courts. Settled down in a good seat to watch British number 2, James Ward, in his first round match but gave him up to find a better contest as he lost dismally! Hey ho. Had also started watching Heather Watson earlier but she let the side down as well! She didn't look well though and had to call for a medic during the second set.
21/1 back at the tennis for day 3, temperature ramping up at 27 degrees but successfully found a seat in the shade to watch a thrilling four-set win by Grigor Dimitrov. Then in the evening I sat in the open to watch Nadal's match on the big screen. Lots of Aussie enthusiasm today as their best young players performing on other courts. As the temperature tomorrow is forecast at 33 degrees I shall continue my tennis viewing from the comfort of an air conditioned house!
