13/1 we returned from Melrose yesterday having driven 1000 miles over 4 days with the main driver being Tony. The weather in South Aus is still being uncharacteristically wet for early summer and we have hardly glimpsed sunshine since we arrived. We travelled back to Adelaide in more rain which continued all day. Good for dealing with the bush fires though.
Today David visited the National Rail Museum in Adelaide and I went to an exhibition of Haute Couture from 1947 to present day which is currently being held in Adelaide's art gallery. As it was still raining in Adelaide I also visited the museum which is handily next door to the Art Gallery.
14/1 our last day in Adelaide andTony continued his chauffeuring by taking us on a tour of Port Adelaide, showing us where he and his parents arrived in Australia from London in the 60's as '£10 Poms'. The weather is still cool and windy but at least the sun emerged for a short while today! Back to Sunny Melbourne tonight.
