Ok, so this is the last night in Chang Mai before I must face and 18 hour bus journey back to upon and then loeng nokta which is a further 2 hours. Wish me luck.
This has honestly been one of the best 3 weeks of my life. We have done the cultural stuff, the touristy stuff (I.e the elohants and rafting etc.) and we have done the night life. I think we have pretty much cored all the best clubs and bars in Chang Mai and we have had good food. And had our fill of western food before we go back to loeng nokta where it will go back living off fruit again.
The room is still a mess and we haven't even begun to pack yet.
We have had now 3 last nights in chang Mai so as you can imagine, a good few Kate jights and I am feeling it now. But you will all be pleased to here I got full marks in my Thai test that we had at the end of the course and I am quite excited about trying it out back in our project. And of course I have the daunting prospect of actually doing sone teaching which could be rather scary. It's a whole new ball park when you are actually expected to use the Thai to teach because although I may know some of the words, I still don't pronounce them right or do it in thenright tone. Depending on what tone you use, cow could mean any of four things. It's not a great prospect tbh. But oh well, at least I can get back to grays anatomy and finish watching that. Plus we have all kplanned to meet In ubon at the weekends and visit everyone elses projects that are near by. In that case, we are quite lucky because there are etleast 3 projects within a few hours bus journey away and some people are miles away from anyway with a lot of effort being required to see other people.
