First Destination Port Reached

On Friday evening at around 22.30 BST the MSC Gemma reached her berth in the Port of Singapore.

Looking at the projected forward travel of the container our goods are in (Yes, you can track the container itself) it is going to be transferred to the MAERSK RIO DELTA container ship which is due to arrive at Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia (which is just outside Singapore) over the next few days. The MAERSK RIO DELTA is the new name of the ship which was originally called the HAMBURG SÜD RIO DE LA PLATA when it was launched in 2008. It was renamed in 2023. One picture of the ship shows it with its old name on the side.

Our goods are then due to leave Tanjung Pelepas on the 25th of July and arrive in New Zealand on the 10th of August. The ship will dock south of Auckland at Tauranga, but more of that in the next blog.
