On Route to Sydney
Today we find our goods on route to Sydney on the Maersk Rio Delta.
The MAERSK RIO DELTA arrived at Tanjung, Pelepas, Malaysia just outside Singapore on the 23rd of July. Originally we thought its route from Tanjung was directly Tauranga, south of Auckland, with the goods then being transferred to Auckland. However, the ships route now includes a stop off in Sydney, Australia.
The MAERSK RIO DELTA, after having unloaded and loaded containers, travelled across from Tanjung, Pelepas to Singapore on the 24th of July to the port area where our unloaded container was located. Here our container was loaded, ready for the next part of the journey to New Zealand on the 27th of July. On the same day the MAERSK RIO DELTA left Singpore for the journey to Sydney.
Today, the 29th of July, the MAERSK RIO DELTA still has some 3000 nautical miles to travel, at a speed of around 19 knots, and has an expected arrival in Sydney on the 5th of August. It will travel through the Indonesian Islands, past East Timor and around the Islands at the northmost tip of Australia and down the East coast to Sydney.
More reports when it has arrived in Sydney.
