Day Six Sunday 9th July 2023 Today was going to be rainy so we had decided to go out for breakfast before the heavens opened. We once again found ourselves going to Thorpeness and sitting by the mere with a tea cake and bacon sandwich. Plenty of ducks around today as well as an open-air church service! We also had some time to kill until the local fisherman would be back from the seas hopefully with our crab. So, we went home as it was pouring with rain by now....

Day Five Saturday 8th July 2023 Today we stayed in Leiston to visit the factory where they built many of the old Steam Traction Engines. This factory was owned by the Garrett family and is called the 'Long Shop'. This building was designed to allow the building of the engines all in one place, the first production line in the UK. Day Four Friday 7th July 2023 We travelled to Bressingham Steam Museum & Gardens. Although this was a one-hour drive there was no need for an early start as the museum did not open until 10.30. We prepared a packed lunch and set off. The forecast was for a sunny day so plenty of sun cream and a hat was the order of the day. Day Three Thursday 6th July 2023 We travelled to Minsmere and Dunwich. After a peaceful night and a better weather forecast, we sat out in the morning sunshine for a coffee before our day's trip. All our trips today were going to be local and so distances would be short. The first stop was to Minsmere RSPB Reserve which was only a 4-mile drive. We have visited here before, but it is always good to re-visit and check what birds are around. Nothing new for us...

After a night of pouring rain, we woke to the usual early morning bird sounds except that today it was added to by the cries of seagulls.
