We left Byron Bay at 5.30pm and was to arrive at Woombah woods caravan park at 9pm, where Nicola would pick us up, as the bus didnt go into Iluka. We got off the bus and Col looked up into the sky as we were in total darkness. Wow the stars were amazing. I turned around and Nicola was there, it was great seeing her after all this time. It was also funny saying hello to people in the pitch black darkness. We got into the car and arrived at her house about 20 minutes later. What a lovely house, and family. Col fell in love with Stuey their s***zchu cross maltese. Think we will get one when we finally reach home. Gracie is a lovely kid and Greg is a really nice guy. It was a bit of a late night, but we didn't arrive until late and we had a lot to chat about. The next day Nicola took us to the beach and we walked along the sea wall. That night we went to the pub for a drink and Nicola won a huge meat tray in the raffle, which was handy for the bbq the following day. On the Sunday we went out and did the rainforest walk and later on we went to the beach where Col tried to learn to surf. The board was slightly too short for him, and it was not an easy task trying to balance on it, he did have a good go though. That night we had a bbq and Greg's parents came round too, along with his sister Sue, who was over for the weekend. Great night, and Gracie, along with her friend, had baked me a chocolate cake for my birthday. I turned the big 35. I had candles and everything :)
We stayed for 6 days with Nicola and her family, and it was brilliant. Iluka is a lovely place, the sun shone everyday. We learnt to play bowls, I won 4 games, Nicola won 4 and Col won 2. I was a natural, lol. Stuey was weary of us at first but towards the end he loved us, and we took him out for long walks. The night we were due to leave we went out to the bowling club for a nice chinese meal, and later that evening we were dropped off at the caravan park to catch the bus to Sydney. It was again a sad time, I hate saying goodbyes. I hope to see Nicola again soon, and it would be great if she could visit the UK.
