We arrived into Byron Bay at lunchtime. The sun was shining and the courtesy bus was there to pick us up. The moment we arrived I thought this place was going to be cool. It was really laid back and it looked like it had some cool shops and cafes. I had booked into a 6 bed dorm, and when we arrived I thought hell no. It was a mess, the people who we would have to share with had their stuff everywhere. We went to the reception to ask if we could have another room, and we were moved to another 6 bed dorm, this one was a lot bigger and 4 beds were empty so we had a choice. The dorm was full and the people we shared with were fine and were tidy. We stayed just the 2 nights in Byron Bay, but I could have stayed longer as it was really easy going place. The beach was lovely and it was nice just chilling and watching the surfers. We had the famous Byron Bay kebab too, I had the seafood one, OMG how delish. We did the walk to the lighthouse, which took about 1.5 hours. It was a lovely scenic walk along the beach and up the road with great viewpoints. We walked to the most easterly point in Australia. I could quite easily live in Byron Bay, so nice.
Our next stop was Iluka and meeting up with Nicola, eek how exciting.
