YES it's friday 13th and we are off to pick up our van .....

Moana is lovely! We do a quick food shop before hitting the road to Oamaru, with a quick stop at Timaru on the way past. We find a nice campsite and go off to where we can watch the little blue penguins come out of the sea and back to their colony at dusk. It was great to watch them struggle but achieve getting over the force of the waves and make it back to dry land! We loved watching them waddle and wiggle and were lucky to see nearly 200! As they are very sensitive to the flash on cameras we weren't able to take photos but as we left the car park we saw several that were taking an alternative route, so managed to take a few pics with the flash turned off.
