This pm we did a heli hike up the Franz Josef glacier, and we were very excited! The day was perfect and when we got all the gear on we had a 10 min helicopter up to one of the highest points we were able to walk on. In our small group we had a guide, with a pick axe, who showed us some of the different coloured ice, the ice tunnels and helped to make a safe path for us to walk. This morning Ang managed to complete 'one of the scariest things' she thinks she has ever done! - jumping into a canyon while attatched to a piece of bungee! EVENTUALLY she decided to jump, well she thinks she did but a closer inspection of the dvd may be needed as she may have had a helping push from the safety guys!
