25 Nov: Arrived after another bumpy journey and soon realised I was back at another city. Jaipur is know as the Pink City and it was another shock after the laid back mellow town of Pushkar. After a mad dash in a tuk tuk, I arrived at my hotel, which is very nice and I had a hot shower for the 1st time in ages. I made my way in to town and soon noticed how run down and dirty the place was. All the places in India have been dusty loud and smelly, with the roads covered in both human and cow urine and poo, but this place I think is the worst. I aslo think that there are more beggers here than in Dehli! Anyway, to cheer myself up, I went to a Bollywood film called DHOOM:2 and it was great!! I loved it. It was cheesy but not as much as I thought it would be. Easy-ish to follow, bearing in mind it's in Hindi. All the dancing and songs were quite catchy and it had that woman in it who was in Footballers Wives (I belive she played Amber Gates!). Also India's Miss World, plus a couple of popular male Bollywood actors. The crowd all cheer when something happens and the film has since caused uproar in India because of a kiss that happens in it! I'm going to buy the soundtrack as soon as I find it.
26th Nov: I had the option of seeing the Amber Fort, but as I've seen quite a few recently and I'll be seeing the Red Fort in Agra I chose to go off and play street cricket with the local kids just along from where I'm staying. Again I was in good form and these kids were even older than the last ones! I did get out right at the end, but this cheered them all up! In the afternoon, I went to a place called I-India, a charity for street kids and that was good. They've had a tough time, but they were all smiling and showing me all of their paintings and how it was all run. They even gave me a thank-you card when I left. Jaipur has been better than I thought it would be.
