We arrived at the rather small airport of Aguadilla at just after 2am. We collected our bags as quickly as possible and after 5 mins looking around we settled down in what seemed the most comfortable place for a few hours sleep. We woke up at 10am when the place started to get noisy and got ourselves a couple of coffees from the vending machine and started trying to find out how to get to San Juan. As it turns out there was a sort of tourist info office where we were told that you could get a bus at 11:30 which would pick us up from the airport and drop us at our hotel, this sounded good and after at least 45 mins of trying to phone the company we were finally booked on. The bus took 2 and a half hours which was a little less than we had expected and dropped us outside our hotel where despite only booking it the day before we managed to check in with no problems. We settled ourselves in rather quickly and enjoyed the luxury of having a proper hotel room, with a good shower and free coffee for a couple of hours before heading out again to find some dinner. We wandered around the local area and quickly discovered that it was all hotels and american food chains and ended up in Denny's for dinner where Mae had a burrito and I tried a skillet, both of which were off the breakfast menu despite being plenty big enough for our dinner even after not having eaten since the previous evening! We were quite stuffed as we walked back to the hotel where we relaxed for a couple of hours as the receptionist had said that places to dance don't get busy until 11 or so. After getting ready we went out to one of the hotels nearby where we found that in their rather posh, and expensive looking bar they had a live band which was playing salsa as we arrived and we lost no time in getting a couple of dances in. The evening started promising but as it progressed the balance of music shifted further and further towards all Merengue and clubbing stuff. We still managed to get a few dances though and left just before 2am.
