Off to Trujillo
We got up for breakfast again and then we were hoping to find some Rueda which supposedly takes place in Miraflores park every sunday. Annoyingly by the time we had managed to book our bus ticket to Trujillo that evening I guess that we were too late because when we arrived there was no Rueda to be found anywhere. We did find that on sundays the roads around the park are all closed off to traffic which gives the locals an opportunity to do some exercise as bikes and rollerblades are available for hire and several volleyball courts had also been set up in the street. Not fancying paying for these things though we decided to give them a miss and instead walked to the post office where we posted 3 post cards, one to the US, one to Costa Rica and one to Cuba. This turned out to cost a frankly extortionate $6 and we have now firmly decided that there will be no more sending of postcards on our travels as they cost far too much!! Walking back to the hostel via the supermarket we bought a new bottle of water and some lunch which consisted of a piece of ham and herb bread and a sweet raisin and cherry bread each. The rest of the afternoon was spent finally catching up on the blog which has taken us the better part of a week. For dinner we had another awesome sandwich using the leftovers from yesterday, this attempt turned out to be more successful as we discovered some honey mustard in the cupboard and had bought some pita bread which held the sandwich together much better than standard bread. The evening was spent e-mailing various dance schools in Guayaquil, Quito and Cali in an attempt to find out where to dance before we get there. Finally the time arrived and we caught a taxi with 2 others from our hostel as they were taking the same bus, we arrived at the bus station in plenty of time checked in without incident, boarded the bus and settled down to watch the film (which we have seen before on another journey somewhere in this blog) and tried to get some sleep.
