And so, the Australian English teacher continues his travel's!
The camp shows finished (my crazy randomness of a show actually pulled off! Have a video of it so might put it up soon). Afterwards, tears from the students, was sad to say goodbye after teaching them all for 2 weeks, but was good to see that the parents and kids actually had a good time!! (I can actually teach.. WOO!) But afters, to end week 2 of english camp, we all headed out to my host families holiday house at the lake again for a relaxing, big 'let loose' night! Was a... interesting night to say the least... Much Vodka shared around which makes for interesting stories.. Lets just say that PeterPans hat wasnt so lucky that night haha (in my show, one of the characters was PeterPan, and we took the hat we made to the lake, actually theres a photo on facey of us wearing it.. used it for drinking games but also for so, so much more..) Well i would say that the hat was lucky but i guess it depends on your point of view... But any who, after finally sleeping, had to wake up earlish to go say goodbye to our families and head to our next camp!
Was sad to say goodbye to the host family, got to know them really well and felt quite at home there. I think the dad had a bit of a tear coming down when we said bye, not sure, but its possible. Last chat with my host bro and then on the train! Easy but tiring ride to Lanzo, managed to get lost in the Turin train station and found Emily who was also lost, who actually happened to be another of the teachers who was in our camp! So picked up another traveller, we now had 4 teachers in our wolf pack, there was 3, but then there was 4 (if ur awesome youll understand that!) Managed to some how convince an elderly italian grandma to walk us to where we had to go, italians are such nice people! So eventually made it to Lanzo, a town north of Turin near the Swiss Alps! Its pretty amazing here, a bit colder but its nice for a change of scenery!!
After arriving and talking with our camp director, we find out that Ill have a bike to travel to school with (so awesome, exept i didnt know it was up a massive hill), and then we found out Jemma was given a CAR!!! and its actually a nice car aswell.. would have been a good experience to drive but bikes better then nothing!! :D Was funny to watch Jemma (as she is from england) learn how to drive on a roundabout in europe and kept on using her wrong hand to switch gears haha, but shes got the skillz now that iv coached her through it. First night i had to bunk up with Jemma as my family was still on holiday. Chilled night, caught up with some relaxation time. Sunday, amazinggggg meal at the host families restaurant; they own a prestigeous seafood restaurant and it was sooo good.. but afters, was dropped off to my 'actual' host family who happens to be half german and half italian, so its completely different! They mix the languages together so its sometimes hard and sometimes easier to catch onto what they are talking about. Lanzo had a town festival that night, but only went to go watch the fireworks-where my host brother knew exactly were they were, so we snuck in and literally laid underneath them... They were so loud and so big that it felt like they were all around me, and the ash and the containers were actually falling on our heads, it was so cool!!
Day one and two of camp: very different!! The kids are really nice, the location is very different to what we had before.. I dont have a classroom, my 'classroom' is outside on a Ferris Wheel. Oh and i have one guy in my class, called ANDREAS! But its not really all positive cos he is kinda creeping me out.. rather not say on a blog lol so maybe ill tell u guys on facey. But so far so good, the host family is nice (they also have fig trees which iv love now, have figs for breakfast lunch and dinner), children are really obedient which is strange, playing fun games (nutella apples - bopping for apples, shave the balloon- use a knife to try and take shaving cream off a balloon without it popping which is realllyyy messy) So having fun, but cant wait to finish-i need a holiday!! haha.
After this week, not sure what is happening; maybe Croatia, maybe Venice or maybe working for a week at a house looking after two children. Any suggestions are welcome!! Im kind of waiting for some possible travelling friends to go see Rome first, so have about a week or 2 to do something... hmmmmmm.
So shall keep you up-to-date later this week!!
