Good food, amazing cars, awesome people, Wifey for Lifey, big cities - Basically what the last week has been all about!!
Continuing from last time, I woke up from my awesomely uncomfortable bed set-up and set off for a day full of walking! Sebastian had a day of Uni, so I went to pick up my bed (which is massive for a blow-up bed, it took up half of the apartment!), and then after walking back, in the opposite direction I walked to Audi HQ!! The museum was pretty interesting and the old cars are so pimping! I wont bore the people who dont like cars so ill just stop there :P But after walking the distance to pick up the bed and Audi, that basically took up the entire day.
Next day, Sebastian showed me around the Dachau Concentration camp (the biggest in Germany) and Munich. The camp was quite shocking.. i dont think we spoke a word to eachother the entire time we were there, it was pretty full on.. Im happy I went to see it, but it was quite graphic. After the camp we made our way for a Munich tour!! He showed me around all the major sites, which is basically one around every corner! Munich is a massive city, seemes like a student city aswell, definatly wouldnt mind studying there. Visited the BMW HQ (which in my opinion is way better then Audi HQ), they have these cool robots that just roam around the floors, wanted to ride one but didnt want to get kicked out... Ended up going to the 2006 World Cup stadium-so big! and when it changes colours its cool, but i didnt manage to get a photo of it :(
So after having another intense walking day (I sware i walked about 10000 kilometers in 2 days), I just relaxed around the local town for the next day while Sebastian had work/Uni. Managed to break my camera card, nearly lost days worth of photos! So bought a new one, and on the way back nearly broke my camera... nothing superglue cant fix :) But any way, was a really nice stay with Sebastian, but sadly had to move on to the nexy place! Which was a town only 2 hours away.
My next family I was staying with are friends of friends, and Iv had such a nice stay with them! Been very relaxed and I managed to come at a time of a german tradition of cooking a massive Goose! Otto, the father of the house, is a principal of a school and asked me to be a english guest in a class! So after waking up early for school (the one thing i dont miss about going to school..) I was quite nervous as i wanted to make a "omg that guy is so aussie-cool" impression, but after my first class (who requested me to come back to their class another 2 times after that day) i was pretty relaxed and really enjoyed it! Ended up being in classes all day, was so unexpected but so fun!
Went out to a local bar and club with Hannah (daughter of the house I was in), had a pretty good time! German people are so friendly, or maybe it was just because they have never met an aussie before.. But i couldnt understand any of the German songs, but they all seemed to be those really fun-dance silly kind of songs... So that made it a very good night. Met some really nice girls, funny stories but those are for another time. One however was nice enough to win the title of Wifey, but will have to see in the near future for that.
Day trip to Ulm with Hannah; the Autobahn is so cool! We were only going 140, and that is average... cars were flying past us -so jealous. But Ulm is a nice, relaxing town, just wondered around, climbed the highest cathedral tower in the world (161 meters high), was a spiral staircase to the top, so after 786 steps up and again down, was pretty dizzy. After arriving back home, walked into a house with the smell of a 5 hour long cooked goose... was soooo good. Its a once a year tradition that i luckily managed to perfectly time :D
Final day with the family, walked around the forests and lakes of the town, and sadly watched Webber get destroyed in F1.... So early morning tomorrow, heading to a new part of Germany and heading back into Hostels for a while! Only heading to places for 2 or 3 days at a time now so will be racing through Europe! :)
