Waaah, so going it alone has begun! After a bit of a manic decision yesterday over what I needed and what I didn't (straighteners took priority over a hoody.... Now not sure this was the BEST idea I've ever had but hey! I can warm myself up with the heat of the straighteners... Right?)
Was nice to have Chris with us yesterday but unfortunately Dom couldn't make it. Bit of an emotional goodbye at Melbourne Avalon but I know I'll be back before they know it. You can't get rid of me that easy! I've had such a lovely week with everyone and I'll miss them all heaps. Time to move on now though.....
Was nice to have such a quick flight and landed in Sydney with clear blue skies which was laavely. Hostel is okay, very hostel like and not quite the double bed I've been staying in this last week but oh well! No one at first seemed to be that friendly... The only people I plucked up the courage to speak to didnt speak a word of English so I wasn't exactly filled with confidence! To save feeling a little lonely I took myself on a stroll to Darling harbour and to see harbour bridge and the opera house. There's no doubt that the scene by night is gorgeous! I got to the opera house at the time of the interval so there was plenty of people around. I stayed and watched a little of the performance but unfortunately only on the tv screen in the foyer! Didn't think it'd be wise to blow a huge chunk of travelling money on the first night just on one ticket....
Came back to the hostel a little disheartened due to the lack of company when a lovely person in the kitchen lent me some milk so I could have a cuppa.... Much needed!!!! Got chatting to a few others too so not such a loner after all. Unfortunately most going home today so I'll have to find myself some new chums somewhere. Going to head to the oz experience place today to get my head around what I'm doing and then go from there. Lets see what happens... Amy x
