Well I'm still alive 48 hours after arriving so I guess that's a good sign?? Only another 2400 hours of survival to go.. I'm sure I can manage that! Started off yesterday desperately trying to sort some of the issues I'm having with oz experience and my bank. Was informed that as of the first of April oz experience buses will not actually be running.... Greeeat! Instead everyone will just be using greyhound buses which are like normal coaches instead of guided tours and social buses. Bit of a shame but as long as I don't lose out on any money I think it will be okay. Might be nice to be able to sleep on the coaches too. STA have been very unhelpful to sort my money.. Whoever told me they were fine until you had a problem, you were right!! I'm still working on both issues as there is other problems with oz experience too but hopefully they are easy to resolve. So not a very productive morning really... Decided i wanted to just see a bit more of the city so went off in the gorgeous sunshine around Paddys markets, then walked through chinatown on my way to darling harbour. A beautiful sight with such clear blue skies! Just sat with my little jam sandwich (part of my 'free breakfast' which I took advantage of slightly) with my feet dangling over the edge of the water in the heat, very noice. Went back to the hostel in the afternoon to meet some friends and headed over to Manly beach on the ferry which took us all the way out of the harbour past the opera house and bridge so we had incredible views.
More blue sky today, woohoo! Took a bus down to bondi beach, a big stretch of sand running parallel with the city. Unfortunately I was a typical Brit, and i have ended up looking very much like a lobster on my entire back half of my body. Oops!! Must've used half my bottle of after sun already... Eek!! Walked down the coastal walk to see lovely views of coogee and bondi beach. It has clouded over by then but given the increasing lobsterness that's probably not a bad thing!!! Last night tonight so think I'll try and make it a good'n. Besides being very stressed over paperwork, all is good... For now! Amy x
