Our next stop was Octopus and this resort was incredible. The sand was white and so soft, it had a swimming pool, the restaurant didnt have flooring, just sand, and again we were greeted by some lovely singing and a nice cocktail. We were in paradise. Our dorm was smaller this time with only 7 beds (whereas in Manta Ray there had been 24!) We took our backpacks to the room and went and lay by the pool for the afternoon before deciding to go and take a walk around the resort.
Before dinner we took part in a "Cava ceremony" which is a root plant ground up mixed with water. You have to clap when you receive it and say Bula and then clap 3 times after you have drank it. It looked a little bit like watery mud, and tasted just like it too!! Dinner that evening was a BBQ, which was scrummy with all different salads and meats and we sat chatting to 3 irish girls all evenign about their travels so far. They had previously been to NZ so were filling us in on all of their stories and the good things to do.
I woke up with lots of bites all over my legs, which we think must have been bed bugs and by now my legs were pretty much covered in bites :(
The morning was spent sunbathing by the beach and swimming in the sea. We left Octopus around 3pm and were ready to head to the "party island" Beachcomber!!
Love Amy and Meg xxxx
