After lazying about for a few hours we headed for the local grocers to get ingredients for dinner tonight, vegetable pasta with yummy garlic bread. We then headed to the Portsea point, this national park held quarantine centres which back in the 1800's was closed and then was later used for military training. There are still unexploded bombs which is what makes it able to stay a national park. We visited a very rough beach where the prime minister drowned in the 1960's, it all seems a bit sinister as who would swim in such rough oceans?! During our lovely walk we saw wild wallabies hopping about which was cool. After our 8km walk we headed back to cook dinner which was delicious and sat up again till late watching the O.C and chatting away. The weathers been very windy and today I had to wear a thick hoody, we want a refund we thought Australia was meant to be hot!! We have tuned into the Christmas adverts back home and showed the Ozzies. They love the John Lewis one. It made us miss home but then we read the weather forecast for you guys!!
The next day we awoke and tided the house and packed up our stuff ready to leave. We tucked into some pancakes for breakfast yum with strawberries and lemon. We really are getting spoilt. It was raining hard today and we were glad to be travelling back to the city instead of being out in it. Once we got back Gigi had to visit a new baby cousin whilst Ed and I freshened up, unpacked and sorted out a few things like our bus to Sydney. Once Gigi returned we headed into the city to china towns best restaurant- supper inn. It was delicious we pigged out on a lot of noodles and veggies it's weird that I craved the food I lived off for over a month solid, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. With the chicken we had left over we bagged it up as we then went to visit G's boyfriend Stuart who has a 12week old cocker spaniel!! What a gorgeous little golden pup she was, we loved playing with her as we have missed our pets so much!! We met Stuarts family which have lived in England themselves and spoke a lot about back home. Stuarts brother joined us and we headed to cold rock ice cream parlour nearby which crushes chocolate bars into ice cream it was for nominal I am definitely piling on the pounds rapidly haha.
Wednesday was a boring day we didn't have much to do so watched a film and took the tram into the city about lunch time. We went and viewed Meyers Christmas windows which is the equivalent of frosts Christmas display back home. The windows tell a Christmas tale and it featured a big fluffy ginger cat like milo. It felt Christmassy as the weather again today was chilly and on and off showers. We mooched about window shopping and visited a treats from home shop which had UK goodies at a premium price. Gigi's family and the Australian nation love Tim tams which the English call penguins. So we purchased a pack and a pack of Tim tams for them to compare as a leaving gift and went and found a thank you card. At 5:30pm we met Gigi from work and Stuart and headed to the Victoria market again which was again delicious. Ed tried his first croc burger and I had a delicious chicken satay burger yum. We all indulged in dessert of course and were too full, we never learn. After having a look around the different stalls we headed for the yarra river the other end of the city and had a drink at the polly fish bar. This bar is underneath the bridge on the river it's really cool, having a fantastic view of the city and the huge fire flames that elite every hour along the river. We headed back after one as it was late and watched a famous ozzy film- the castle. This film was a comedy taking the mickey out of simple Australians. We stayed up talking for a while and then decided to hit the pillow.
Today was our last day in Melbourne and we took a walk to grab bits for lunch and grabbed the family a bunch of flowers to thank them. We placed the card flowers and biscuits altogether for when they arrived back home. Mum had sent my straighteners out but they hadn't arrived yet so headed to the post office to ask. Looks like they'll turn up in the next few days as expected delivery is 2 weeks. Which is annoying but Gigi will send them up to Sydney when they arrive. It was another chilly day so we sat watching another film waiting for Gigi to come home, Helen G's mum arrived back and we sat talking until g arrived through the door. We headed straight to the local Indian where we met Stuart and we indulged in yet another delicious meal. Time was tight so we rushed back grabbed our bits, said our goodbyes and headed for the station. Traffic was so bad that we missed the bus, we were livid. Luckily Gigi had waited around. To heal our pain we headed to Brunettis an amazing Italian cafe open till late which serves gourmet ice cream. I contacted Dec to let him know our change of plan and we headed back to the silk household. By this time we found it funny and we started to see the silver lining- straighteners may arrive and we got to hear the families verdict on penguins. They loved them which we were happy about. We headed to bed and set our alarms to plan and book our bus for tomorrow night.
Today is a boring day waiting around for our bus we got ready and went for a walk around the lake and the Grand Prix track which is metres away from the families apartment. Today has brightened up! We hope my straightners arrive after lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon watching movies waiting for G to return for dinner and head EARLY to the bus station.
