A very hectic few days!! We finished off Kathmandu by going to a festival with some people from the hostel where we witnessed a real life goddess this was manic people filled the streets. We made friends with a Dutch guy and ended up planning to share a taxi. Another friend we got chatting to also showed us a brilliant cake shop where we indulged in a piece which took me home for the two minutes it took me to eat it!! We set off on the 8 hour bus journey to Kathmandu. We was not excited especially as we enjoyed Chitwan and Pokhara so much it's fresh air and wildlife was an amazing change to city life. Chitwan was beautiful when we awoke. We were situated on a river with wild endangered birds and animals each sharing the rivers water. As we arrived late last night the hotel manager gave us options for activities for the next day. We decided on the canoe, jungle safari and a visit to seethe new baby elephants. The whole experience of Varanasi was incredible, how these people dedicate their life to their religion and bath in the sacred water everyday. Especially as the water has no oxygen in it and nothing lives in it which is a sign of how dirty the water really is. Once we arrived in this over populated city we had lunch which was my favourite so far!! Peas, cauliflower and mushroom curry yum. We then got our stuff sorted and went for an orientation around the city which was so busy cars and bikes were so close to hitting the group. We then attended a flower ceremony where the Hindus were praying which was enlightening. Smells were gorgeous insert sticks and candles and flowers!! After we headed to dinner which was lovely....
