This morning we went to Mullaloo beach for a little while... well it really does seem rude not to when it's SUCH a gorgeous beach. We came back to Pam's and after a bit of lunch both crashed for a kip. I don't understand how we are so 'bushwhacked' at the moment but we are!
This afternoon/evening we got the train into Perth to get some food from the Twilight (no not THAT twilight) Hawker Market. We wandered around a few of the shops which were open late on Friday, through some gardens where some blokes were practicing their fly fishing technique nowhere near any water (as you do) and down to the boat quay which was full of business-type people drinking exorbitantly priced cocktails in their blue shirts.
We headed back to the market where we selected an Indian 'platter' of lamb kebab, prawns, tandoori chicken and samosa. It was pretty good! We then went to a Mexican ice lolly stall where Josh chose cucumber and chilli flavour and I had lime pie. It was probably the nicest thing I've eaten in Oz so far :)
We caught the bus part way to Kings Park to see the night cityscape from a high vantage point. After a bit of walking around we found the bottom of 'Jacobs ladder', a 242-step climb up to the gardens. Apparently despite all the swimming and outdoor stuff we've been doing I'm not very fit! There were lots of people going up and down the steps for exercise purposes... not really my cup of tea! At last we reached the top and I reckon the view was probably worth it in the end! We had a brief wander around the gardens before trying to negotiate Perth's sporadic Friday night public transport to get back to Pam's... before 11pm! We're SO rock and roll!!
